Stole this from the housemate's blog:

New OrleansMississppi Blues

On a recent episode of the ever-wonderful Open Source Radio devoted to the situation in New Orleans, Christopher Lydon described the city as "the most exotic, most Caribbean [emphasis added], most vitally decadent, most nearly universal city in the United States".

Since one of the things New Orleans and the Caribbean share is an attitude towards music (that at the deepest level, it's something more than entertainment), I've decided to devote some more space on this blog to spreading the word that Putumayo World Music has pledged to donate all proceeds from the sale of their albums New Orleans and Mississippi Blues to relief efforts in the Gulf Coast area through the end of the year.

You can also find a list of other organisations to donate to and through at the Network for Good. And you can help out my kind by visiting Noah's Wish.
